Model Based Field Line Animation

This animation of Jupiter's magnetosphere is based on the Khurana 96 model. The red line is at a fixed System III longitude on Jupiter. The field lines are yellow and the current sheet is the blue net. Notice how the fields lines are swept backwards relative to the rotation of the planet.
