Graduate Student Fellowships/IGPP/UCLA

The Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics (IGPP) at UCLA invites applications for graduate fellowships for 2004–2006, one to be awarded in each of five centers of excellence:

IGPP will grant each fellow a stipend of $3,000 for each of the first two years of graduate study, with no teaching or other duties. This fellowship may be held in addition to other awards. Stipends may be used for any purpose the fellow deems appropriate—travel, books, computers, etc.

Applicants should plan to carry out doctoral research under the direction of members of the IGPP faculty who are affiliated with the UCLA departments of Atmospheric Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Earth and Space Sciences, Mathematics, the Molecular Biology Institute, and Physics and Astronomy. Fellows are invited to interact with the entire IGPP faculty in weekly seminars and luncheons.

Fellowship applicants must apply to an appropriate (see above) academic department for Graduate Admission to UCLA and indicate that they wish to be considered for an IGPP Fellowship.
