| DITDOS is a server-side CGI application
which provides information about data holdings and services. It also provides
an interface for browsing listings of the data holdings, placing orders
and accessing specialized interfaces for collections.
DITDOS has the ability to build inventories of data holdings by scanning the local file systems. It works best PDS compliant data collections (volumes), but can work with other types of data which has minimal volume information. DITDOS works with other DITDOS servers. One DITDOS server can query another DITDOS server to obtain listings of data holdings and services. This permits one system to act as a global server while preserving the indendepence of all other servers. DITDOS has evolved to support the OODT system model and acts as both a profile server and product server. It also can provide XML profiles for use with other OODT compliant systems. |
